As a young girl
she loved to fly around and dream. She loved Disney cartoons,
especially those featuring mermaids. And she loved those half
lady and half fish things more than anyone else and she even
wanted to be one like them. She used to swim around in the pool
with her legs tied up and kick water up with her ‘tail’. To her
the titular role of the little mermaid in the movie Aquamarine
was like a reunion with her childhood fantasy to be a mermaid.
She said “I was so lucky that I got to live out my dream...it
was much better than anything I could have expected."
Sara’s father is an Irishman Steve Paxton who is a distant
relative of actor Bill Paxton and her mother is a dentist from
Mexico. Because of this mixed cultural backgrounds she is
bilingual and speaks English and Spanish and celebrates both
Christmas and Hanukkah. Goldie Hawn and Reese Witherspoon are
her idols and she will die to work alongside both in a movie.
Last year she appeared in an anti-bullying commercial in a
Canadian family TV channel. Paxton hosted The Secret Life of
Water, the first episode of the series Planet H2O, which
premiered in April of 2006 on public television stations and she
appeared on a TV series called Pepper Dennis as a young actress.
This June, Sara will be graduating from high school and looking
forward to join the college. Though she had to manage acting and
study together, she never felt it as too difficult a job. She
always wanted to be in front of the camera and in front of the
people. And Sara is now preparing to release her debut album,
"The Ups and Downs”.
She thinks that Jim Carrey is a great and funny actor and she
still cherishes memories shared with him in the sets of Liar
Liar, she says “He is so funny! I had so much fun working with
him, in the movie I had to come up to him and ask him where
babies were from, because you know he couldn't lie. It was funny
especially when he actually answered truthfully, and I didn't
even really understand what he was talking about because I was
like seven! It was a lot of fun”
Sara thinks her role in Aquamarine was the best she ever had,
but she also thinks that it changes with time. She says
“Aquamarine is probably my favorite, but it always changes.
Every time I do something new, it's like “that's my favorite”.
And she always kept her passion alive for doing something new.
Charming, young and talented, Sara has just begun and she has
got a long and colorful career waiting in front of her and her
friends and fans knows that she has got the right talent and
attitude to manage it all.
